Ep 02 - Kenyan Innovation becomes the first to Interview Israeli Ambassador in new Covid-19 Media.

Kenya's new innovation TujikingeKE, a platform aimed at hosting everything about Coronavirus played a host to the Israeli Ambassador H.E Obed Joseph.

 

Through its show "TujikingeKE Show" which shows every Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7:30 pm to 8:40 pm the shows impact was massive with over 6,000 people tuning live through its streaming link, youtube channel, Linkedin and Facebook live stream links.

 

The show host and founder Mr. Alphonce, a YALI Alumni had a chance to interview as well as share a food distribution event with the Ambassador and his team from the embassy as well as the ISWIK Team.

 

The show aims at recognizing and sharing stories of change on Corona Virus, the affected cases, heroes, Live Daily Corona statistics, Donations, connecting the vulnerable and needy families to individuals who can shop breakfast and dinner for them during this tough period and Global News updates on Corona Virus.

 

Airing for the second time the show was before the start already trending at position 2 on Kenya's top Twitter trends #IStandWithKenya and #TujikingeKE with a combined reach of over 100,000.

 

This particular show panel was made up of the Israeli Ambassador, his Deputy following on the side as well as the Israeli team and the key host partners from  ISWIK team lead by Founder and President Mr. Justus Juma, Dr. Christine Owinyi Secretary-General, Hellen Mwatawali among other large following of their leadership and membership.

 

The Ambassador praised the initiative and reiterated on Israelis resolve to stand with Kenya during this period of Corona Virus by ensuring there is sharing of information and technology that will help flatten the curve.

 

When asked by the host on the exchange of Technology through both countries following the just concluded "Great Covid-19 Challenge Hackathon" organized by the Ministry of ICT, Konza Technolopolies, Association of Countrywide Hubs, Oracle, Cisco, UNDP, Uk Kenya Tech hubs, Hans Seidel Foundation, Huawei, Microsoft among other partners, the Ambassador said he looks forward to an exchange hackathon program through both countries bringing together entrepreneurs from Israel and Kenya.

 

Mr. Alphonce happened to be among the finalists at the Hackathon through his innovation Mybigorder Kenya a Marketplace used by business people to reach the market through the selling of products and services and it's Covid-19 wing that connects individuals and corporates to donate food to the vulnerable families affected by the Corona Virus.

 

Any needy cases are posted by the public at tujikinge.com dashboard and the cases are connected to well-wishers who buy and donate breakfast and dinner to them.

 

ISWIK Founder Mr. Justus Juma praised the Ambassador for such a rare treat to the Mwananchi especially during this tough time of Covid-19.

 

Dr. Christine took the audience through how transparent the exercise was and called upon Kenya's to adopt the culture of giving to the needy during this tough time.

 

Drawn by an event to donate food items and protective gear for Corona Virus affected persons living in Eastleigh, Kenyan's had a chance to interact and share the love with the Israeli Ambassador during both events.

 
The food distribution event was organized by the Israeli Embassy alongside its partners ISWIK, Justice & Freedom Party, Mybigorder Kenya, Friends of Kaimosi Girls, My Leader Kenya (MLK), Hasham Sacco and Kenya's celebrated youth-led Technology & Web company Oracom Group.

 

Food hampers sponsored and delivered by the Israeli Ambassador Obed Joseph was received by the Nairobi County Commissioner in a colorful event graced by Kenya's renowned artist and Tusker Project Fame principal Hellen Mwatawali among other Dignitaries.

 

Housing and Urban Development PS Hinga Mwaura said the government is already rolling out a number of programs to engage the youth during this tough period.

 

Kenya Charity Sweepstake Managing Director Yoran Farachi said they stand committed to partner with other organizations during this Covid-19 period by supporting people in the Vulnerable areas.

 

Through this show and initiative the show calls upon many Kenyan's to come and share their stories of change during this COVID-19 period.
